Watch the northern lights from your living room awaits.
Murphy Dome rises above Fairbanks with essentially no light pollution to the north, and
almost none to the south, where the city disappears behind the ridgeline. This architectdesigned family home sits on five private acres with floor-to-ceiling south-facing
windows, so the aurora often comes to you. When it does, you are watching it from a
warm, modern house artfully placed in the Alaskan wilderness. If you want to see more,
you can step outside for a walk, or take a short drive to the top of 2,890 foot Murphy
Dome, with 360 degree views of the sub-arctic sky from up above the tree line.

Two full bedrooms, two bathrooms, cathedral ceilings, and a laundry — all designed by
an architect and an artist who built this for their own family, with careful attention to how
light reaches every room even in the depths of an Alaskan winter. The living and dining
area opens through floor-to-ceiling windows to a south-facing view of trees and
mountains. Step outside and walk a short way up the driveway: the full northern sky
opens in front of you, dark to the horizon.
Neighbors aren’t visible. The house feels like wilderness, but with up-to-sate comfort
and style.
